The Lexington Rescue Mission (LRM) helps prepare job-seekers to find lasting employment through Jobs for Life, which teaches skills to succeed in any workplace. This Biblical job training program is held at our facility on 629 North Broadway for LRM clients. We are also partnering with sober livings in and around Lexington to hold classes. If you are interested in being a site location for these classes, please contact Mark Gamble. We also conduct classes in local jails, prisons, halfway houses, and recovery programs. For more information on the program, contact Mark Gamble, Direct Placement Job Coordinator, at (859) 785-0979.
Direct Placement
Our placement service assists job-seekers in obtaining suitable employment. We work in collaboration with local businesses to connect individuals with meaningful employment. Our staff conducts an initial employment assessment to help clients identify potential employers. Program participants receive support with their job search, including help with creating resumes and cover letters, filling out online job applications, obtaining identification documents, procuring interview attire and work clothing, obtaining bus passes, and fulfilling other necessary requirements. For further information, please contact Mark Gamble, Direct Placement Job Coordinator, at (859) 785-0979.
Steve's Story
“God wanted me to be here!”
Steve grew up in a home where his family “didn’t really go to church a lot.” His Mom was God-fearing, and his father became that way later in life, but Steve didn’t really start growing in his faith until he learned to lean on the Lord.
