Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of volunteer involvement at the Lexington Rescue Mission. This includes recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and supporting both individual and group volunteers to ensure a meaningful and mission-aligned service experience. The Volunteer Coordinator collaborates with staff to identify volunteer needs, maintains accurate records, and promotes a culture of appreciation and engagement among volunteers.  Click here to view the job description. Fundraising Admin Summer Intern

We are seeking a motivated, responsible, and personable Fundraising Admin Intern to support the Development team in a way that glorifies the Lord and furthers the mission. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about nonprofit work and wants hands-on experience in donor relations, fundraising operations, and community engagement. The intern will serve as a key point of contact for visitors, donors, and volunteers, helping our team run smoothly and efficiently.  

This is a part-time, unpaid internship requiring 15–20 hours per week. The preferred schedule is: 

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday — 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM 
  • This position will start at the end of May 2026 and go until late August 

Occasional flexibility may be needed for special events or tabling opportunities.

  • Health Insurance

    The Mission provides health insurance for all full-time employees, covering 100% of employee premiums and 50% of spouse and dependent premiums.

  • Vision and Dental Insurance

    The Mission provides group vision and dental insurance. Employees pay the premiums through payroll deduction.

  • Disability Insurance

    The Mission provides short and long-term disability through MetLife, fully covering employee premiums.

  • Group Life Insurance

    The Mission pays for a group life insurance policy for all full-time employees through MetLife, with a benefit of twice the annual salary of employees. Employees may elect to supplement this policy with additional coverage, up to five times their salary in supplemental coverage.

  • Paid Holidays

    The Mission provides employees who are scheduled to work on holidays with paid time off. Holidays include New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  • Paid Time Off

    New employees receive 120 hours of paid time off annually, in addition to holidays. Once employees reach their third work anniversary, they receive 160 hours of PTO. At five years, they receive 200 hours annually.

  • Gym Membership

    The mission is committed to the health of our employees and invests in this by paying 50% of their membership to the YMCA of Central Kentucky.

  • Employee Assistance

    The Mission provides coaching and pastoral counseling to all employees and their spouses at no cost with Dr. Mark LaBonde of CAREWorks.

  • 401K Retirement Plan

    The mission provides a 401K plan for all employees through Vanguard. The mission matches employee contributions, dollar for dollar, up to 3% of their salaries.

  • Family Leave

    Employees who have been employed for at least three consecutive months are eligible for 12 weeks of family leave (6 paid and 6 unpaid) at the birth, placement of a foster or adopted child, or family medical crisis. Employees who have been employed for at least three years may have 8 weeks paid and 4 weeks unpaid.

  • Spiritual Retreat Days

    Employees are granted one spiritual retreat day each quarter to spend one-on-one time with God.

  • Bereavement Leave

    Employees are given five days of paid Bereavement Leave after the death of an immediate family member for both Full-Time and Part-Time Regular Employees.
