Restoration starts with individuals being transformed by Jesus Christ and finding freedom from addiction, stable housing, and gainful employment. As lives are changed, we see families being reconciled, children reunited with their parents, and generational cycles of poverty broken.
More people than ever before are coming to the Lexington Rescue Mission for help with food, clothing, housing, recovery support, re-entry, and jobs. Our current space does not have the capacity to house the staff, volunteers, and programs that are needed to effectively serve the thousands of people coming for help. This new facility will provide the space that is needed to share the love of Christ and help people get out of poverty and homelessness, break the bondage of addiction, reintegrate into our community, and find lasting employment.
Mayoral Endorsement
Lexington Rescue Mission is partnering with the City of Lexington to help achieve its goals of reducing and ending homelessness, engaging more people in the local workforce, and keeping our community safe. We are actively involved in the Continuum of Care (CoC), a network of agencies working together to address homelessness led by the Mayor’s Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention (OHPI). In addition, we are one of the Mayor’s Workforce Development Partners, helping people train for jobs and re-enter the workforce. We are also partnering with ONE Lexington to help reduce recidivism and prevent gun violence in our city. Because we work so closely together on these issues, our city leaders see the impact of the mission’s work and how vital it is to restoring our city.
