Lexington Rescue Mission

Reaching Hearts. Changing Lives.

Ex-Offender Re-Entry

Lexington Rescue Mission provides training and support to assist incarcerated men and women in making a smooth transition back into the community. We work with those who are currently incarcerated, offering our classes to inmates at Fayette County Detention Center, Woodford County Detention Center, and Northpoint Training Center. We also offer case management to inmates taking these classes as well as those who are in Jessamine County Detention Center.

Our classes include the following:

Authentic Manhood
This 12-week class prepares men to live lives of truth, passion, and purpose. It offers clear and practical insights on God's design for manhood and points men to a vision of life that sets them up to enjoy God's grace as they pursue His promises.

The Genesis Process
This 14-week class for women addresses a fundamental struggle in life: the struggle to change. The process identifies the fears that drive our self-destructive behaviors and emotions and helps resolve them so you can find true and lasting freedom.

Jobs for Life
Our 12-week Biblically-based course helps men and women develop the job skills and character qualities that prepare them for success in the workplace upon release.

In addition to classes, our mentors walk alongside program participants, offering their wisdom, guidance, and support. Our Case Manager meets with participants to help them develop a plan for transition back into the community and provides accountability and support to help them achieve their goals. We also provide assistance with practical needs -- obtaining birth certificates and IDs, transportation, clothing, housing, employment, and other necessities.

In 2016, 117 people graduated from our classes in jail.
