After Scott's release from 12 years of incarceration, he had nowhere to go. “I was literally put out on the streets,” he says.
But that’s where he met another homeless person who told him about the Mission. Scott began coming here for meals. Then he learned about our transitional living program for men working to rebuild their lives. Thanks to your support, we were able to offer him a bed at The Potter's House and meet his daily needs while he saved money to get his own apartment. “I have a roof over my head…clothes on my back… and I don't have to worry about where my next meal will come from.”
Most importantly, he shares, “I’m growing in the Word every day.”
And with God’s love in his heart, he’s placing his future in God’s hands. “I want to live for the Lord. I figure He’ll let me know what He has planned for me!”
Today, with a heart of thanksgiving, Scott feels blessed by the assistance your gifts are providing and by the acceptance and encouragement he’s found inside our doors: “I’m grateful for the Mission. The people here treat me like family,” he says. Hear Scott, in his own words, tell you what your support has meant to him.
